Service Terms

We believe in being transparent and setting clear expectations. When you choose Making The Impact for your website or hosting needs, here are the general terms that apply to our services. These are a simplified overview of the agreements we use with clients. Each project will also include a formal written agreement specific to the services you select.

What We Provide

  • Website Design & Development — Professional design tailored to your goals. May include custom layouts, e-commerce, online booking, donation forms, or other requested features.

  • Website Hosting — Reliable hosting with email, backups, and security. Hosting is provided through trusted third-party providers.

  • Ongoing Maintenance & Support — Optional care plans for updates, monitoring, security, and content changes.

  • Additional Services — Logo design, SEO setup, plugin installation, marketing support, or other agreed-upon services.

Payments

  • Proposals & Quotes — Before starting work, you’ll receive a clear proposal outlining scope and pricing.

  • Deposits — A deposit is typically required before a project begins. The balance is due at completion, before launch.

  • Hosting & Domains — Hosting and domain renewals are billed annually. Third-party pricing may change over time.

  • Maintenance Plans — Care plans renew monthly or annually until canceled in writing.

  • Late Payments — Late or missed payments may result in suspension of services until the account is up to date.

Revisions & Changes

  • Each project includes a set number of revisions during the design phase.

  • Additional revisions or scope changes beyond the original agreement may result in added fees.

  • Requests must be approved in writing (including email) before extra work begins.

Ownership & Intellectual Property

  • Once your project is paid in full, you own the rights to the finished website design and content.

  • Third-party elements used in your project (such as stock images, plugins, or templates) remain the property of their original creators and are licensed for your use.

  • Drafts, unused designs, or code remain the property of Making The Impact.

Hosting & Account Access

  • For hosting and domain accounts set up on your behalf, we maintain administrative access until you request a transfer.

  • Upon transfer, you assume responsibility for renewals, billing, and account security.

Client Responsibilities

  • Provide timely content (text, images, etc.) to keep the project on schedule.

  • Review drafts carefully and provide feedback promptly.

  • Ensure any materials you provide (images, text, logos, etc.) are properly licensed for use.

Confidentiality

Any confidential information shared with us (such as business details, login credentials, or financial information) will be kept secure and never disclosed to third parties except as required by law.

Service Limitations & Liability

  • We commit to delivering services in a professional and timely manner.

  • We are not responsible for issues caused by third-party services, plugins, or hosting providers.

  • Hosting includes a 99.9% uptime guarantee from our provider.

  • Either party may end an agreement with written notice (email is sufficient).

  • In the event of termination, you will be billed for work completed to date.

  • Hosting or maintenance plans may be canceled in writing at any time, with service continuing through the end of the paid period.

Dispute Resolution

We aim to resolve any concerns through clear communication. If needed, disputes will be handled under Oklahoma law and may involve mediation or arbitration.
