When the main content becomes visible. If high, inspect the hero image, font loading, response time and render-blocking resources. A good field LCP is 2.5 seconds or less.
How responsive the page feels when someone interacts. If slow, investigate long JavaScript tasks, heavy widgets and costly event handlers. A good field INP is 200 ms or less.
Whether content moves unexpectedly. If high, reserve space for images, ads and embeds, and investigate late-loading fonts. A good field CLS is 0.1 or less.
How soon the server starts responding. If high, inspect hosting capacity, server and page caching, database work and CDN configuration. Interpret it by connection and test location.
Serve appropriately sized modern formats such as WebP or AVIF where supported. Set intrinsic dimensions, use responsive srcset, and avoid lazy-loading the main above-the-fold image.
Investigate chat widgets, analytics, animation effects and page builders. Defer or delay nonessential scripts only after verifying menus, forms and consent controls still work.
Test TTFB from your audience's region. Review full-page caching, CDN behavior, compression and browser cache headers. Do not cache personalized pages.
Reserve layout space for images and embeds, preload truly critical resources only, and test font loading. Optimize what people see first rather than chasing a score.
