A useful next step

Keep your browser up to date

Security updates protect you against problems like this. Most desktop browsers update automatically, but it's worth checking—especially on a phone or tablet.

Open Chrome's menu (⋮), choose Help → About Google Chrome, and let it install any available update. Relaunch if asked.

About the test

Why check website certificates?

Certificates help browsers verify that they're connecting to the correct website. Some certificates were compromised, and browser makers released protections.

If none of our connections succeed, that's an encouraging sign. Because network blocks can look the same as certificate rejection, it's not a guarantee your browser is completely safe.

This check uses the independent researcher's test servers and original explanation ↗.
