1. Program approval
Creating an account is an application to the referral program. Referral commissions are available only while a partner account is approved and in good standing. Making The Impact may decline, suspend, or end participation when necessary to protect clients, the company, or the integrity of the program.
2. What counts as a referral
The clearest attribution method is the partner’s unique referral link. A referral may also be credited manually when the partner made a genuine introduction by word of mouth, email, message, or another method and Making The Impact can reasonably verify the connection. A lead is not automatically commission-eligible merely because the person later visits a referral link.
3. Existing and duplicate leads
Commission eligibility generally requires the partner to be the meaningful source of a new opportunity. Leads already in an active sales conversation, ordinary additional work from existing clients, duplicate referrals, self-referrals, fabricated leads, or referrals already attributed to another partner may be excluded. Attribution disputes are reviewed using available records and the circumstances of the introduction.
4. Commission rate
Each approved partner has an assigned commission percentage. The rate applicable to a sale is recorded with that sale when it is entered, so later rate changes do not retroactively alter an already recorded commission unless Making The Impact corrects an error or both sides agree to an adjustment.
5. How commission is calculated
Commission is calculated on the commissionable labor portion of an eligible project—not automatically on the entire client invoice. Third-party expenses and pass-through costs such as domains, hosting purchased for the project, licenses, software, advertising, payment fees, subcontracted resources, physical goods, taxes, or similar project costs are not commissionable unless specifically agreed otherwise. The partner dashboard shows the project total, commissionable labor, rate, and resulting commission separately.
6. When a commission is earned
A displayed pending commission is not yet a guaranteed payout. A commission becomes payable only after Making The Impact has received the applicable client funds and the work/payment is no longer subject to a pending cancellation, refund, chargeback, nonpayment, or material dispute. Cancelled, refunded, fraudulent, or unpaid amounts do not generate commission; partial payments or partial refunds may result in a proportional adjustment.
7. Payout timing and method
Once a commission becomes payable under Section 6, Making The Impact normally sends the payout within 14 calendar days to the PayPal email saved in the partner account. Partners are responsible for keeping that address accurate and able to receive funds. A payout may be held while a related client payment, refund, chargeback, attribution question, or required tax information is unresolved. The dashboard records when a commission has been marked paid.
8. Taxes and records
Partners are responsible for their own tax obligations and for providing any information or tax forms legally required before payment. Making The Impact may delay a payout when required information has not been provided.
9. Acceptable promotion
Partners should make genuine, relevant introductions. Unsolicited bulk messaging, spam, deceptive claims, impersonation, misleading pricing or guarantees, trademark misuse, or unlawful promotion is prohibited. Partners may not bind Making The Impact to a price, scope, deadline, warranty, or other promise.
10. Client relationship and confidentiality
Making The Impact controls project qualification, proposals, pricing, acceptance, contracts, delivery, and client support. Participation does not create employment, agency, franchise, or authority to act on behalf of Making The Impact. Partners should not collect client passwords, payment details, private project credentials, or other sensitive information for Making The Impact.
11. Changes and termination
The program may be changed or discontinued prospectively. Material changes should be reflected on this page. Ending participation does not erase a commission that had already become payable under the applicable terms, but future or unqualified opportunities may cease to be eligible.
12. Questions or corrections
If a referral was not tracked by a link, a project appears under the wrong partner, or a financial figure appears incorrect, contact Making The Impact so the underlying records can be reviewed and corrected.
