Purpose and Goals

With a professional website redesign, Klarity Lifestyle Company would have a more professional and engaging online presence that accurately reflects your expertise, values, and unique approach to lifestyle coaching. The goals of the website redesign are to increase website traffic, improve website engagement, and generate more leads for speaking engagements and coaching services.

Currently, the website lacks a clear and cohesive message, and its design is outdated and lacking. Our aim is to create a website that effectively communicates your story, values, and expertise in lifestyle coaching, and encourages visitors to take action by contacting you for speaking engagements and coaching services.

By redesigning the website with a custom and professional design, we will create a strong brand identity that resonates with your target audience. We will also ensure that the website clearly communicates your unique approach to lifestyle coaching, your credentials, and your inspiring story of perseverance and resilience.

Our ultimate goal is to create a website that is visually stunning, easy to navigate, and optimized for search engines, so that it can effectively drive traffic, generate leads, and help you achieve your business objectives.

The homepage will be the primary landing page for the site, so we will design it to be simple, yet eye-catching to generate interest.

A popular design for homepages is to use a video background. We can create a video background using clips of you speaking without audio. Then we can overlay a large, compelling headline with a call to action. The call to action should be designed to appeal to your target audience – those who are most likely to visit your website – and it should offer something they will want. If you would rather a static image be used for the background, we can do that as well.

The overall result of our work will be a simplistic, modern website that works across devices and that makes it easy for your target audience to navigate and find what they want. The pages will have calls to action to encourage them to click or do what helps you achieve your business goals.

Target Audience

The target audience for Klarity Lifestyle Company’s website is individuals who are seeking to make positive changes in their lives and are looking for guidance and support in achieving their goals. This audience may be interested in personal development, self-improvement, mindfulness, and health and wellness.

Your unique approach to lifestyle coaching appeals to individuals who are looking to align their life stories with their special power – a skill or talent that they possess and enjoy doing. Your coaching can help individuals identify their special power and create a life that is fulfilling and energizing.

Your story of resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity is also likely to resonate with individuals who are looking for inspiration and motivation to overcome their own challenges and obstacles.

The website redesign will be tailored to this audience, with a clear and concise message that speaks directly to their needs and interests. The design will be visually appealing and easy to navigate, with content that is informative, engaging, and inspiring. Overall, our aim is to create a website that is not only beautiful and functional, but also speaks directly to the needs and desires of the target audience.

Site Map

Your website already has several pages, but they could be expanded upon and designed to better meet your goals and resonate with your target audience. Here are the changes we recommend to the page content and site structure:

  • Home: The homepage should provide an overview of the business, including its mission, values, and unique selling proposition. It should also include a clear call-to-action to encourage visitors to explore the website further.
  • About: The About page combines your current About Matt Miller page and the What is Klarity? page. The page should provide a summary at the top with more detailed information below. Your story section that discusses your background could be featured on the same page or put on it’s own page.
    • The section of the About page that talks about you should provide more detailed information about you, your background, and your expertise. This page can also include testimonials from satisfied clients to help establish credibility and build trust with potential clients.
    • The page should provide a clear explanation of what Klarity Lifestyle Company does and how it can help individuals achieve their goals and live a more fulfilling life.
  • Speaking Engagements: The Speaking Engagements page should provide information about any upcoming speaking engagements or events that you will be attending. This page can also include information on how to book you for speaking engagements. While you have some information on this page, it could be expanded upon to provide more details and outline what people can expect. On this page, we will include a booking request form where people can request to book you for their event, podcast, or other interview.
  • Blog: Posts from your My Life Sherpa website will be imported and added to your website. Any new content you would like to post to your blog can include any combination of videos, images, and text content. If you would like blog posts to be automatically added to your website when they are uploaded, that will require additional setup (the cost will depend on what exactly you want it to do, what platforms are involved, and other details) – if that is something that interests you, please let me know and I will create a quote for you.
  • Give Back: The Give Back page should provide information about any charitable causes that the business is involved with, including any upcoming events or initiatives. (removed since you would like to add it later)
  • Shop/Merch: The Shop or Merch page would show the available products for sale in your shop.
  • Contact: The Contact page should provide clear contact information, including a phone number, email address, and physical address if applicable. This page can also include a contact form to make it easy for visitors to get in touch with the business.

Design and Branding

When it comes to the design and style of the website, we can match your existing branding or help you establish a new style that suits your desired brand identity and that reflects your values and personality. Since you already have a logo, we can use what you have as well as your existing color scheme of black, red, and white.

Colors have meaning and influence, those the use of such colors in design is important.

Black: While black is often associated with power and seriousness, it can also convey sophistication and elegance. When used sparingly and thoughtfully, black can create a sense of authority and credibility for the brand. It can be used in typography or as an accent color to add a touch of sophistication and balance.

Red: Red is a color that represents strong emotions and energy. It can evoke feelings of passion, motivation, and excitement. In the context of a brand focused on self-improvement and motivation, red can be used strategically to create a sense of urgency, drive, and determination. It can be used to highlight key messages or calls to action, energizing and capturing the attention of the audience.

White: White represents purity, simplicity, and new beginnings. It can create a sense of calmness and openness, providing a clean and fresh canvas for the brand’s content. White can be used as the primary background color, allowing the other elements and colors to stand out. It helps create a sense of clarity and allows the brand’s message and visuals to take center stage.

The way the colors are used will impact the mood, expectations, and user experience, so how they are used in the design is important. I would recommend a design that has white as the primary background color, with the black and red as accents colors. White will generate a more positive atmosphere and mindset, more in tune with self-improvement and life change, than using black or red as the dominant color.

Content

As part of the redesign of your website, we will develop new and improved content that is informative, engaging, and inspiring. Our goal is to create a website that not only accurately represents your expertise and approach to lifestyle coaching, but also provides value to your target audience.

We will begin by conducting research on the target audience to identify their needs, interests, and pain points. This will help us develop content that resonates with the audience and addresses their specific concerns. We will also work with you to create new and improved content that aligns with your values and expertise. This could include producing content for your blog, ebooks, videos, and other forms of content that provide practical tips and advice for improving one’s lifestyle.

The content produced can be a combination of new and existing content, edited and crafted to ensure that it accurately reflects your approach to lifestyle coaching and appeals to your target audience. This may involve updating the tone and language used, incorporating more visual elements, and optimizing content for search engines.

Overall, our aim is to produce website content that provides value to your target audience and positions Klarity Lifestyle Company as a leading authority in lifestyle coaching. By providing informative and engaging content in various formats, we can attract more visitors to the website, increase engagement, and generate more leads for speaking engagements and coaching services.

New content can be generated using AI technology, then edited to suit the need and purpose. AI can also be used to provide guidance on the types of content the page should have, produce an outline to follow, and provide other helpful information to ensure the website provides value and comes off professional and written in a style that would appeal to your target audience. Our AI powered tools open new opportunities for content creation and creativity.

Features and Functionality

To enhance the user experience and drive engagement, we recommend your website add the following features:

  1. Booking request form: With a booking request form, you can collect information about the speaking opportunity and the point of contact. The form can be customized to capture the information you need to produce a quote and estimate travel expenses.
  2. Blog: A blog is a great way to publish content that your target audience would find of value related to what you specialize in. Those searching for such content may find it in the search engine results, or if you choose to build an email list, you could send out emails notifying them when a new blog post(s) has been published on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
  3. Social media integration: Social media is an important marketing tool for any business, and we will integrate social media into the website to drive engagement and increase brand awareness. This may include social media share buttons, links to social media profiles, and embedded social media feeds. We can link to your social media pages like LinkedIn and Instagram.
  4. Online shop: Since you would like to sell some merchandise from your website, we can embed an online shop so that people can purchase products without leaving your website.
  5. Email subscription sign up form: An email subscription form could capture the emails of those who are interested in receiving notifications for when you publish new content or have something valuable to share with them. Although we did not discuss this in our meeting, it is something that can help you grow your audience and build a following, so it is something I highly recommend.

Other features that could be added later:

  1. Calendar: A calendar could include information on speaking engagements, workshops, and webinars, as well as any other events that you are participating in.
  2. Testimonials: Testimonials are an effective way to build credibility and trust with potential clients. We will incorporate testimonials throughout the website to showcase the success stories of past clients and the effectiveness of Matt’s approach to lifestyle coaching.

Starting out you may not have many events to list on a calendar or testimonials that you can put on the website, so these things can be added at a later time when you are ready.

Online Shopping Cart System

Since you would like to sell merchandise on your website such as t-shirts, you will need a shopping cart system. The shopping cart system will handle the initial part of the ordering process and getting the payment from the customer.

If you would like to use Printful, you can integrate it with many of the shopping cart systems available for WordPress. There are a lot of options for shopping cart systems, but the best ones I have found are:

Ecwid – it has a limited free plan for those who want to sell up to 5 physical products. Their paid plans start at $19/month but are a bit less if you choose to get an annual plan. You can compare the pricing here. With a paid plan, you can also connect it to a Facebook shop and Instagram store. The more expensive plans have more features and sales channels opportunities.

The next option, is one that I am less familiar with as I just found it. It is called WP EasyCart.

WP EasyCart – is a free plugin with core features like unlimited products, unlimited orders, and the ability to sell with PayPal Express, Square, and Stripe. They charge an annual fee to get access to the premium features and functionality. The annual fee is significantly less than Ecwid, so it may be a better alternative for you.

With their pro and premium edition of their plugin, you get access to tax automation and live shipping rates. The cost for the professional edition of their plugin is $89/year and their premium edition is $129/year. They offer discounts if you purchase multiple years in advance.

Note: This proposal does not include the cost of the shopping cart system, as that will be separate.

If you would prefer a completely free shopping cart system, I can install Woocommerce or WordPress Simple PayPal Shopping Cart. The Simple PayPal Shopping Cart would use PayPal as the payment processor. Woocommerce is more complicated to use and tends to slow websites down, which is why I tend to recommend solutions like Ecwid which are more user-friendly and provide better performance, features, customization, and reliability.

Which Shopping Cart System Should You Use?

The shopping cart solution I would recommend would depend on your budget, anticipated future goals, and desired ease of use.

WP EasyCart is the most affordable solution. Their free plugin does not have a limit on the number of products you can sell from your store, so that is a huge advantage over Ecwid. If you want access to greater features like tax automation, shipping rates, subscription products, coupon codes, and more, then $89 a year is a very affordable price for that. Their premium version includes apps for desktop, tablet, iPhone, and Android, as well as other integrations for the $129 a year. For the cheapest paid Ecwid plan, you would have to pay $228 a year, which is significantly more and for access to fewer features.

Both Ecwid and WP EasyCart are user-friendly and easy to use, but Ecwid is known to be more intuitive and beginner-friendly – which is important for helping you to manage your online store.

If you have plans to sell on platforms like Amazon and eBay, then Ecwid is a system that has that integration available in their more expensive plans. Ecwid has tools for email marketing, online advertising credits, and other perks that you won’t get with WP EasyCart. However, given your current needs, those perks may not be worth the expense.

WP EasyCart is probably the best solution for you as it is the cheapest and has the core functionality that you want.

After reading reviews for the plugin, it seems the free version of WP EasyCart takes fees out of each sale and for them to do that it requires a lot of permissions that make people uncomfortable. But people who have purchased the pro or premium version of the plugin are very happy with it.

I have not used the plugin before, so I can’t vouch for it personally, I can only go off what information I have found for it. It looks like a decent plugin, but it is only used on around 6,000 sites, whereas Ecwid is used on over 30,000 sites. Ecwid is a much bigger company with a larger user base.

From what I can tell, either solution is good – however, it seems clear that WP EasyCart is going to save you a lot of money going with the pro or premium version.

They do offer a 14-day trial, so if you would like to do that, we can try it out and see if it’s a good fit. If it’s not, I will setup another solution for you.

Payment Processors

Before I move on, I need to mention that to accept payments online, you will need an account with a reputable payment processor. The top payment processors are:

  1. PayPal – PayPal is one of the most recognized payment processors. To handle payments, customers are typically taken to the PayPal website to process their payment, then returned to your website after their payment has been completed. You can view the transaction fees for PayPal by clicking here.
  2. Stripe – Stripe is one of the leading payment processors that allows customers to securely pay for their order directly on your website. Their fees are similar to PayPal, but do differ in some ways. You can see their current fees here. Stripe tends to have a more complicated setup, but is one of the best solutions. They do not charge a monthly fee to use their service, instead they charge per transaction.

There are other companies that do provide payment processing services, but these two are the most widely accepted in the US and have the best platform integrations. If you would prefer another system, let me know and I will see what is available that is compatible.

Email Marketing

I highly recommend that you have an email sign up form on your website. This would enable you to build a mailing list of interested people. In the marketing world, it is well known that it takes around 7 times to get people to buy something. People may be interested but initially hesitant, so email marketing can be a quick and easy way to get repeated exposure to them, build up trust, and remind them that you exist long after they left your website.

There are a lot of affordable email marketing solutions available. A popular solution you are probably familiar with is MailChimp, but that is not the one that I recommend. The reason is that they increased their rates and it is not the easiest to use.

I often recommend MailerLite because it is generally affordable plus it has a free plan for starting out. Their free plan allows you to have 1,000 subscribers and send out up to 12,000 monthly emails. That means if you have 1,000 subscribers, you could send out 12 emails to all of them. If you have a smaller number of subscribers, you would be able to send out emails more frequently. Their paid plans start at $10 a month for 1,000 contacts.

Another option is MailJet, which allows for unlimited contacts and charges based on the number of emails you want to send out per month. Their free plan allows you to send out up to 6,000 emails per month (200 per day), and their paid plans start at $15 per month.

I’ve got Mike setup to use Zoho CRM and email marketing system since he had a lot of old contacts to start with. So if you’re interested in that option, let me know and I can get you the prices on it. The downside with Zoho’s email marketing system is that their sign up forms are limited, extremely hard to customize, and tend to look ugly (in my opinion). The email sign up forms on Mike’s sites are connected to the CRM system, which can integrate with the email marketing system.

For those in the motivation and self-improvement industry, many coaches and public speakers will send out emails weekly or biweekly. They may also do an email series where the system sends out tips, insights, inspirational stories, and other things on a weekly basis. Some send out emails based on the events they have, like webinars, workshops, and special promotions.

There are automated email systems that can be set up to where emails are sent out on a particular schedule as part of some free training or course. For example, some will have a daily email go out for a period of time that provides valuable information that the person wants or is looking for. When they do that, they usually provide a link in the email to access all the information at once if they want.

We could setup an automated email series for you, then you can also send out emails to the people who sign up on that list to provide updates about new content or things you are offering.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Search engine optimization (SEO) is an important aspect of any website, and the Klarity Lifestyle Company website redesign will include several strategies to optimize it for search engines. By implementing these strategies, we aim to improve the visibility of the website on search engine results pages (SERPs), increase traffic, and generate more leads for speaking engagements and coaching services.

Some of the key SEO strategies we will implement for the Klarity Lifestyle Company website include:

  1. Keyword research: We will conduct in-depth keyword research to identify the terms and phrases that potential clients are using to search for lifestyle coaching services. We will use this information to optimize the website’s content and meta tags for relevant keywords and phrases.
  2. On-page optimization: We will ensure that the website’s content is properly optimized for search engines by including relevant keywords in headings, page titles, meta descriptions, and other on-page elements.
  3. Link building: Link building is an important aspect of SEO, and we will work to build high-quality, authoritative links to the website. This may involve reaching out to other websites and blogs to request backlinks, as well as creating valuable content that naturally attracts links.
  4. Mobile optimization: With more and more users accessing websites on mobile devices, it is important that the website is fully optimized for mobile viewing. We will ensure that the website is mobile-friendly and provides an optimal user experience on all devices.
  5. Content marketing: In addition to optimizing the website’s on-page elements, we will also develop and implement a content marketing strategy to attract more visitors to the website. This may include creating blog articles, ebooks, videos, and other types of content that are optimized for search engines and designed to attract and engage potential clients.

Overall, these SEO strategies will help improve the visibility and ranking of the Klarity Lifestyle Company website on SERPs, and drive more traffic and leads for speaking engagements and coaching services.

Most of these keywords will be competitive and hard to rank for in the search engines. However, video content targeting those keywords may help you get to the top of the results faster and capture new fans on YouTube. Some of the reasons for this are:

  • YouTube is often used as a search engine by those who are looking up answers to topics or how-to videos.
  • Google indexes YouTube videos fast, which means they show on the search results pages faster than most websites do.
  • For some keywords, Google will show videos at the top of the page, which is like prime real estate in the digital world, resulting in more clicks there than regular websites listed on the page.

The Best Ways to Promote Your Business

The marketing tactics most commonly used by successful self-improvement and motivation public speakers and coaches include:

  1. Personal Branding – They build a strong personal brand and use professional headshots. This branding is used consistently across their website and social media profiles. By using headshots (and/or other professional photos of themselves), it helps to establish credibility and recognition among their target audience.
  2. Content Marketing – They regularly share valuable and relevant content through blog posts, articles, videos, podcasts, and social media updates. They provide insights, tips, and inspiration which helps demonstrates their expertise and builds trust with the audience.
  3. Speaking Engagements – Through speaking to live audiences, they showcase their knowledge which helps establish authority and generate new leads. Speaking engagements may be found at conferences, seminars, workshops, and industry events – both in-person and virtual.
  4. Webinars and Online Workshops – Many coaches and speakers how their own webinars and online workshops, providing valuable information, inspiration, and training on topics of interest to their target audience. Webinars and online workshops tend to be a great way to engage with the audience and generate leads for coaching or speaking services.
  5. Email Marketing – Building an email list and sending regular newsletters or updates is a very popular and effective way of staying connected with your audience. Many speakers and coaches share exclusive content, upcoming events, special offers, and personalized messages which helps to nurture relationships and generate conversions.
  6. Social Media Marketing – Most coaches and speakers use social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube to reach a wider audience. They will frequently share inspiring quotes, success stories, behind-the-scenes content, and engage with their followers through comments, live videos, and discussions.
  7. Testimonials and Case Studies – Many coaches and speakers will display testimonials and case studies from satisfied clients. This helps to build social proof and credibility. The positive feedback and success stories are showcased on their websites, social media, and marketing materials, helping to build trust in potential clients.
  8. Partnerships and Collaborations – By collaborating with complementary brands or influencers, many coaches and public speakers expand their reach and tap into new audiences. You can do this through joint ventures, guest blogging, podcast interviews, or co-hosted events to cross-promote and gain exposure.
  9. Referral Programs – Another popular tactic is using referral incentives. Existing clients or contacts can receive discounts, rewards, or exclusive contact for referring others to the speaker’s or coach’s services.
  10. Online Advertising – Using online advertising on search engines, social media, and sponsored content is another way they reach a wider audience and drive traffic to their website or targeted landing pages.

These are of course not the only ways to promote your business, but they are the most popular tactics used by the most successful and well-known coaches and public speakers like Tony Robbins, Brené Brown, Mel Robbins, Brendon Burchard, Simon Sinek, Marie Forleo, Jay Shetty, and Gary Vaynerchuk.

The most popular types of content they sell include:

  • Books – They typically delve into their teachings, philosophies, and strategies, providing in-depth guidance and insight.
  • Online Courses and Programs – They provide comprehensive training and resources on specific topics.
  • Audio Programs – Many offer digital downloads or CDs that may be guided meditations, affirmations, motivational speeches, or recorded seminars.
  • Apparel and Accessories – They offer t-shirts, hoodies, hats, wristbands, and other merchandise with motivational quotes, branding, or logos related to their brand.
  • Planners and Journals – They often offer planners, journals, and workbooks that they designed to assist individuals in setting goals, tracking their progress, and implementing the teachings into their daily lives.
  • Online Memberships and Communities – Some offer membership programs or exclusive online communities. These platforms provide ongoing support, resources, and a community of like-minded individuals for continued growth and accountability.
  • Live Event Tickets – Many will organize live events like seminars, workshops, or conferences then sell tickets to the events. The events allow individuals to experience the teachings firsthand, engage with the speaker, and connect with a community of like-minded individuals.

As you plan your business strategy, you may want to consider these in your current and future offerings.

Competitor Website Examples

A great way of seeing what works is looking at your competitors and what their websites have and feature. Here are the websites of some of the best people in the self-improvement and motivation space:

  1. JayShetty.me – Jay Shetty has an excellent website, though it is a little too busy. It is simple, easy to navigate, modern, and well designed. He uses a video background on the homepage showing his different interviews and speaking events. He has a bright red bar at the top with a link to get tickets to live events. In the navigation bar, he has a “take quiz” button which is a great way to engage with the user, provide something of value, and capture their email address. He has an email sign up form on the page and some well designed buttons that take the user to the different things he offers on his website that they can do. Another thing he has is a scrolling bar of logos which provide name recognition that help to establish his credibility and authority, thus building trust with the user by leaning on big name brands he has been featured on or done some kind of work with in the past. On his homepage, he also has a section that talks about his story, with content that changes. He has a videos page where he seems to be hosting his own videos on his website (this requires a cloud hosting plan and isn’t necessary to have a successful website), while he has some great videos, it’s not the most user-friendly layout, it requires horizontal scrolling. His pages have a consistent call to action section at the bottom though, which is a great feature to have.
  2. TonyRobbins.com – The website for Tony Robbins is clean, modern, and fairly easy to navigate. His color scheme is similar with black and white, but he has light blue accents. His website is modern and well designed. The menu system is rather overwhelming with all the options, so it can be a bit too distracting. On the homepage, there are quick links to popular types of content and services he provides.
  3. MelRobbins.com – Another good website design is Mel Robbins’ website. Her website is clean and modern. The homepage features a call to action to “listen” to her audio clips on Spotify. The navigation links are very simple and they expand to show additional options. On her homepage, the content is split into easy to digest sections with a call to action. This is a great setup and way to guide the user into the desired actions without overwhelming them with too much.
  4. SimonSinek.com – The design for Simon Sinek’s website is unique to match his company’s branding and styles. On his homepage, he has big buttons for the solutions that he offers to businesses and individuals. He offers a variety of downloadable products, a branded hat, and gift cards.

By checking out your competitors, we can get an idea of the types of designs and features your website should have. There are certainly many examples, these are just a handful. I would recommend having a website design similar to Jay Shetty’s website. There would be some notable differences of course, such as the absence of the quiz and video library. You can host your video

If you find any websites with designs or features that you like that you want on your website, please let me know so I can look it up and see what I can do to create something similar.

Proposal #3 – Only the Essentials – $643

The essentials package is truly just that – the essentials to help you get started. What that includes is the basic pages (homepage, speaking engagements, about, blog, shop, and contact pages) and the forms. You will be responsible for providing the content for those pages, but I will provide the graphics and design the layout of the pages and the site. To help you along, I can provide you an outline for the types of content the pages should have, so you have somewhere to start from. If you don’t want to write the content yourself, I can provide you with instructions for how to generate it using AI or purchase it from ghost writers. If you take care of the online shop setup yourself, this package would only cost $443.
