Hi Jonathan,
Here is the updated proposal for you to review. I believe you are still interested in the following:
- Website hosting
- Domain names (jlrinvestigates.com and jonathanleerichesinvestigates.com)
- Email addresses with your domain name (ie. info@jlrinvestigates.com)
- Website content
- Online contact form
- Logo re-design
- Email marketing setup
- Linking to social media accounts and third-party platforms to sell your books and merchandise
- Photo gallery and/or Instagram feed embed or a link to your Instagram account
Below is a breakdown of what the proposal includes.
Website Hosting
To make things simple and easier for our clients, we offer website hosting. In doing so, it is easier for us to serve our clients and provide the best service we can. With our website hosting, we provide you with an administrative login to access the controls for the account, have complete file access, and more.
We will never lock you in or make you completely dependent on us. If you ever want to switch to another hosting company, say the word and we will help you transfer over to whichever platform is compatible with your website.
Our website hosting can be used to not only host your website, but can host your email accounts as well. You can have one or more email accounts such as jonathan@jlrinvestigates.com, tips@jlrinvestigates.com, or info@jlrinvestigates.com to send and receive emails. Having an email account with a domain name is seen as more trustworthy than using a free email provider. This helps people know that they are communicating with you and it helps to build your brand.
Domain Name
Domain names are purchased for a year or longer at a time. The domain names you have requested (jlrinvestigates.com and jonathanleerichesinvestigates.com) are currently available, so we would be happy to register the domain names for you if you would like to move forward with the proposal.
If you would prefer a different domain name, then we recommend one that is short, easy to spell, and memorable. It is typically best to have a .com domain name, as it is what people have come to expect so it is typically easier for people to find your website and decreases the chance they may type it in wrong. The standard .com domain names are typically less expensive than other options like .shop, .online, or countless others.
We typically recommend allowing us to register the domain name on your behalf, so that we can set it up properly for you and prevent it from accidentally expiring. We also use registrars that protect privacy, which is important for stopping spam and scammers. However, if you choose to purchase it yourself, we will still be happy to help you with getting it connected to your website.
Logo Re-Design
We offer logo design services from simple text logos to complex icon or mascot illustrations. For your needs, a simple logo design would likely work best. We can take your existing logo and use it as the base or foundation for a new design.
When designing logos, we first collect your preferences, colors, and styles for the design, then put together mock-up logo concepts until you are satisfied with results. Once you like the initial design, we put together variations so that the logo could be used across different mediums and backgrounds. So for example, we typically produce a solid white version that can be used as a watermark on videos and used over dark backgrounds, a solid black version, and if applicable, a color version and special effects (if any). We then export the logo into different formats and sizes (including print quality versions) so that you have it for using on your merchandise and promotional materials.
Simple Website Setup
We setup a WordPress site performing a simple installation of WordPress, installing an existing theme (we provide a free theme), and creating up to 5 pages of the site. Page creation includes inserting content and adding images.
This service includes free website analytics tools to help you estimate the number of people visiting your website and what they are looking at, website security to prevent hacking, access to powerful tools that make it easy for you to make changes to your website, and access to our professional form builder that can be used to provide a lot of added functionality to your site.
As part of our service, we assist you with planning your website, including page structure. Once we have a plan, we build the pages, insert the content, design the layout of the pages, edit any photos and/or graphics that go on the website, and put it all together.
We recommend the following pages for your website:
- Home
- Videos
- Merch
- Membership
- About
- Contact
Here’s a breakdown of what the pages could have in terms of content:
Home
The Home page is the first thing most people will see when they visit your website. If you like the large background video design from the Buchanan Bicycles website, I could produce something similar for your website.
We could take a compilation of clips from your YouTube videos and apply various special effects that match your branding. Then we can add a large headline, subtitle, and button to promote whatever you would like. Typically, this is a call to action – for example, you could ask people to sign up to get on your email list, enter their name in a giveaway, browse your merch, subscribe to your channel if they haven’t, or take some other action. Whatever it is, it should be the thing you want to promote the most.
Most people that visit your website will likely already be fans and subscribers, or those looking up information about you, or that come across your website while looking up information about a particular story you cover.
Since those visiting the website will already know at least something about you, the homepage should probably feature updates such as a blog, or content that is generated automatically using RSS feeds or other sources. With a blog, you could publish updates, post exclusive content, or share behind the scenes stories. Blog posts can consist of text content, images, or video, or could have some combination of content.
The blog posts could be displayed in a variety of formats. For example, a post slider could be added that shows the post images with the headlines and the slides change automatically every few seconds. The posts could also be displayed as a text list or shown are tiles with images, headlines, and excerpts.
If you wanted, you could create categories for the different investigations you cover with sub-catagories for each of the investigations. Then the categories could be displayed so people can easily find content on the investigations that interest them most and explore the whole timeline and view information on the crime story and links to news reports.
If you don’t want to do blog posts, the rest of the homepage could feature quick links to the other parts of your website, as well as an introduction that talks about who you are, what you do, and where people can submit tips. There could also be a featured section for whatever you would like to promote.
There are a variety of different ways it could be done, so it just kind of depends on what you would like and have the means to do in terms of content.
Videos
The Videos page is where your YouTube videos can be featured automatically on your website in a gallery style format. Whenever a new video is added, it will also display on the website. This functionality would use a special third-party plugin that would connect to your YouTube account to pull the videos from your channel to display them on the site.
Note: In order to connect your social media accounts and YouTube channels to your website, it will need to be connected using an account with admin or manager access. We can add the plugins and guide you through the process to connect the accounts to the website, or if you want us to take care of it we will need some kind of admin or manager access to perform the setup.
Merch
A Merch page could be setup different ways. It could simply redirect people to the online store where you decide to sell your merch, or the page could be setup in such a way to allow people to purchase the products directly from the site.
Printify offers integration with WordPress through a popular ecommerce plugin called Woocommerce, however, it requires more work to setup and you will need a payment processor such as Stripe or PayPal. That may not be what you want. Woocommerce has been known to potentially cause websites to run slower and the setup for that particular plugin can be hard to customize without additional plugins and add-ons that may have an additional cost.
An alternative to featuring a shop on the website is choosing the best-selling types of merchandise (hoodies, mugs, hats, etc.) and showing images of those which are simply linked to the appropriate product pages where they can actually buy them.
Membership
The membership page is where you can promote the platforms and communities people can join to get access to exclusive content and the ability to connect with you. It needs to showcase all the benefits of joining and what they can expect, as well as the cost and how to sign up.
About
The About page, of course, talks about you. It could feature a biography about yourself and a history of your channel. You might want information about how you got started creating videos, your background, how long you’ve been doing this, and any other relevant information. The about page may be a good place to feature a photo gallery, social media links, or social media feeds, if that is something you would like to include.
Contact
The Contact page gives all the ways people can contact you. The page can have a contact form, links to social media, and any other contact information you want to publicly share. The contact form can feature a dropdown or another selector to give people the ability to choose what their message is about (ie. news tips, press inquiries, questions or comments, etc.). The form can be setup to send messages to one or more email addresses of your choosing.
We also include two other pages – Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions for the website. These pages have generic policies created by our generators that fill in some basic information about your business.
Website Content
When it comes to content, many people struggle figuring out what to say so we offer content writing to put together content for the website that uses targeted keywords and that helps guide the user towards taking the desired actions (ie. making a purchase, signing up for membership, etc.).
For your website, some of the pages that would need the most content would be the about page, the membership page, and the homepage. The about page provides needed context and information to help build trust with the user. It can be written as if from yourself or in the third-person style. If you would rather write this content yourself, feel free and we can copy and paste it into the site if you prefer. You can look through our general guide to writing content for your website by clicking here.
Email Marketing
Our email marketing service is designed to help you easily connect with your customers and grow your channel. We’ll work with you to set up your email marketing system from start to finish. This includes creating an account with whatever email marketing platform you choose, such as MailerLite, Zoho Campaigns, Mailchimp, or Constant Contact, and connecting it to a subscription form on your website.
We’ll also help you create a series of automated emails that will be sent to new subscribers, welcoming them and encouraging them to follow you on all your social media channels, as well as to share your content, purchase merch, and donate. With email marketing, you can easily stay in touch with your fan base, build your brand, and drive more sales.
If you want to use the Zoho CRM to send out emails, you can, however, there are some key differences between that system and the Zoho Campaigns that you need to be aware of.
The main difference between emails sent through Zoho CRM and Zoho Campaigns is the level of automation and customization available in Zoho Campaigns.
Zoho CRM allows you to send individual emails or bulk emails to your contacts. However, it does not provide the advanced features for email marketing automation and personalization that are available in Zoho Campaigns.
Zoho Campaigns is designed specifically for email marketing campaigns and provides a more robust set of tools for creating, automating, and tracking email campaigns. With Zoho Campaigns, you can create and send custom email campaigns to targeted audiences, set up automated drip campaigns, and track the performance of your campaigns with detailed reporting and analytics.
As for the cost difference, Zoho Campaigns provides additional features and capabilities that go beyond what is offered in Zoho CRM, which is why it is priced differently. Additionally, Zoho Campaigns uses its own dedicated email servers to send emails, which adds to the cost of the service. Zoho CRM, on the other hand, does not use dedicated email servers and relies on your own email service provider.
To integrate the CRM system with your email requires a professional plan at $35 a month, or $23 a month if you pay yearly. Optionally, if you choose the standard CRM plan, the cost is only $20 a month. If you choose to use Zoho Campaigns, the cost for the system depends on the size of your email list and the number of emails you send. They have a free plan to start with that allows you to have up to 2,000 contacts and allows you to send up to 6,000 emails per month. Both of these tools are powerful and designed to help you sell more to your target audience, so if you are able, it is best to use both. With both, I will be able to integrate signup forms on the website with Zoho CRM, and those contacts can automatically be added to the email marketing lists in Campaigns.
It is easy to import contacts from the CRM into Zoho Campaigns by simply creating a list in Campgians and selecting the source as the CRM. Any changes to contacts in the CRM are reflected in Campaigns, so the lists are kept up to date. There is a two-way sync between the two programs. Additionally, the sync between Zoho Campaigns and Zoho CRM allows you to see the full history of a contact’s interactions with your brand, including email opens, clicks, and unsubscribes, in a single location. This can help you make more informed decisions about how to engage with your contacts and improve the effectiveness of your email campaigns.
Special Website Features
Here are some features that you may want to consider having on your site:
- YouTube auto-blogging – If you don’t want to display the videos in a gallery format, you can feature them on the site in the form of blog posts. Blog posts are a great way to spotlight specific content that you want to promote. Using a service called IFTTT, it is possible to connect your YouTube channel to your website so that whenever you release a new video, a blog post will be automatically generated and published on your website about it. You can use the website blog to share information to your fans, post about any promotions or contests you have, and anything else that may interest them.
- Social media feed embeds – It is possible to embed social media feeds on your website, such as your Instagram account. By using a special plugin, we can connect your Instagram account to automatically display your posts on your website. When they click to view the posts, they will be taken to Instagram (or the platform it’s posted on) to view it.
- Event calendar – If you have events, tours, book signings, or anything else like that, you could feature them on an event calendar. The event calendar would make it so that you could create an event, specify a location with a date and time, and share that with your audience. An event calendar is useful if you have a lot of events and can plan things in advance so that your event calendar has enough content to be useful to your fans and has something to display.
Promotion Ideas
Here are some of the ways you may want to promote your YouTube channel and merchandise:
- Collaborate with other YouTubers: By doing a collaboration video with another YouTuber with a similar audience, you can increase your visibility and reach. You can promote each other’s channels and/or merch.
- Giveaways: You can engage your audience, encourage them to share your content, and offer free merchandise, books, or shoutouts to the giveaway winners.
- Branded hashtags: Create branded hashtags that are unique to your channel which can be used to help build a community around your brand. Encourage your followers to use the hashtag in their posts and videos to increase your reach and engagement.
- Offer exclusive content: Offering exclusive content, such as behind-the-scenes videos, bloopers, or outtakes, can entice your audience to subscribe to your channel and engage with your brand.
- Create a challenge for fans: Creating a fun challenge that your fans can do and post on their own social media and TikTok videos using your hashtags may help build your audience by getting exposure through your fans followers, regardless of whether it goes viral or not.
- Conduct interviews: By conducting one-on-one interviews with people, you can potentially capture search traffic that are looking for content by or about the interviewee. This can lead to new subscribers if people like the interview.
- Press release: You can issue a press release that can be distributed across news networks and on the Google Display Network, Twitter, and other platforms. There are different tiers and options for press release distribution.
Recommended Next Steps
Once your website is launched, you will need to promote it on all your social media channels. You can also use SEO (search engine optimization) targeting keywords that people are regularly searching for.
There are 8 keywords that we found related to your brand which are listed below:
(keyword, number of searches a month, amount of competition)
- “jonathan lee riches” – 6,600 (low)
- “jonathan lee riches investigates” – 6,600 (low)
- “jonathan lee riches wife” – 140 (low)
- “jonathan lee riches lawsuits” – 30 (low)
- “jonathan lee riches list of lawsuits” – 20 (low)
- “jonathan le riches” – 10 (low)
- “jonathan lee riches guinness” – 10 (low)
- “jonathan lee lawsuit” – 10 (low)
These keywords serve as an example of what people are actively searching for on a monthly basis. All these keywords are centered around your brand and so are of course low competition. Keywords that have low competition may be generally easier to rank in the search engines for so that your site will appear on the first or second page.
When doing a search for “Jonathan Lee Riches”, the Jonathan Lee Riches Investigates YouTube channel does not show up, but at least one of the videos do when filtering results to display videos only. Your new website may help with that; however, you may want to start trying to include the top 2 keywords above in your video descriptions and hashtags as that would probably help Google index them faster.
We hope this information is helpful to you as you work on building your channel. If you would like additional help and guidance with marketing, want a video custom intro/outro, designs for merchandise, or anything else, don’t hesitate to ask 😊!

We will create a contact form that will prevent spam and bots using hCaptcha. Messages sent through the form will be sent by email to you as well as stored on the site.
Website Content
Writing content for your website can be challenging to do. Many business owners struggle with knowing what their website should say. Our website content writing services help to take care of that for you. We come up with headlines, subheadings, and the text for the pages. We can even write blog posts. The content we write is done with keywords in mind to help your website pickup organic search engine traffic. This helps your website be seen by people searching for those keywords on sites like Google or Bing.
Additional Recommendations
If you are interested in expanding on your marketing efforts and reach, these services may be a great fit for you. These services are of course, entirely optional and are not included in the scope of the proposal. If you are interested any of the recommended services below, please let us know and we will put together an estimate for you.
Social Media Management
If you would like help with your social media accounts, we offer social media page creation for $60 per profile or page. This includes creating or editing the profile image and banner image graphics for the page, logging into an account to create the page, and following whatever steps are required to create the page on the platform and put in the desired public information. If you simply want the graphics for your social media profiles, we offer those for $30 per set (profile image + banner or header image). We can also create animated and video banners or headers where they are supported for an additional fee.
Social Media Posting
If you would like us to create social media posts for one or more social media pages, we offer this service for $24 per post. The post includes some short post text and a graphic or short video that is related to your business and designed to be suitable for your audience. If you would like weekly posts of this sort, we offer that service for $96 a month (or $24 per week). If you would like daily posts, the cost is $718 a month. This covers posting up to 2 social media platforms. More platforms can be added for a small fee. This service includes analytics tools that can help you monitor the effectiveness of the posts.
Online Advertising, Email Marketing, and Social Media Boosting
If you are interested in advertising your business on Google, Facebook, or other platforms, we can conduct research and analyze demographics plus other statistics to help determine the best way to reach your target audience. From there, we work to put together an online marketing plan that best suits your business and goals.
Social Media Feed Setup
If you would like your social media posts to show up on your website, then you will need this service. We first install a compatible third-party plugin that can connect to your social media account. We then take whatever steps are necessary to complete the setup - this may involve a simple button that then connects to the social media account or it could be more complex and require creating and setting up an API key and other more technical steps (it can vary depending on the social media platform and the type of account being connected to). We then will try to display and customize the social media feed so that it matches the rest of the site. If you would prefer a more customized solution that does not rely on third-party solutions, a custom plugin can be developed but it is far more technical, costly, and time-consuming to produce. Since there are existing solutions, a custom plugin is typically unnecessary.
Timeline
Estimated Turnaround Time: 1 - 2 weeks This estimate includes the planning, setup, design, data entry, content insertion, customization, testing, and revisions. The website may be completed before or after the estimated time, it just depends.
Estimated Timeline:
March 3rd - March 17th
Project Cost Breakdown
The following is a breakdown of the cost for the proposed services.
Total: $381.65
